KUWAIT CITY, Mar 3: Officials have reaffirmed the operational stability and cybersecurity resilience of Kuwait’s unified government e-services application, “Sahel,” emphasizing that the platform continues to function efficiently and without interruption.
Colonel Bashar Al-Sayed Hashem, Director of the Information Systems Department at the Ministry of Interior and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Unified Government Application “Sahel,” said the application is operating around the clock with full technical and operational readiness. He told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the platform is built on advanced digital infrastructure and flexible systems that enable government entities to deliver services with high reliability.
Hashem stressed that the application is protected by an integrated security framework aligned with the highest cybersecurity standards, ensuring data confidentiality and safeguarding the integrity of information, thereby reinforcing user trust.
He added that, in coordination with the Ministry of Social Affairs, the General Directorate of Civil Defense and other relevant authorities, an immediate alert feature has been activated to notify people with hearing disabilities through the app when sirens are sounded. The measure ensures urgent warnings reach them directly and promptly, reflecting the state’s commitment to inclusivity and equal access to official alert channels.
Fajr Al-Yassin, Quality Control Supervisor at the Public Authority for Civil Information and member of the executive committee, confirmed that the app’s instant notification system is functioning efficiently and serves as an officially approved channel for delivering warning and awareness messages in a timely manner. She said the platform was designed as a direct and reliable communication link between government agencies and beneficiaries, particularly in emergency situations.
Amina Abdulrahim, Systems Development Supervisor at the Public Authority for Civil Information and executive committee member, highlighted the application’s technical flexibility, noting its capacity to introduce new services and activate supportive features in response to evolving requirements. She added that technical and operational teams are continuously monitoring system performance to ensure service sustainability, strengthen inter-agency integration, and enhance public confidence in digital government services.
