‘Sahab’ wins Al-Nawader Cup

Sheikh Dhari Al-Fahad receives memorial shield.

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 13: “Sahab” of Al-Haila claimed the Al-Nawader Stud Cup for mixed Egyptian-bred horses, completing the 2,000-meter race in 2:32.65 during the seventh race of the 11th meeting at the Hunting and Equestrian Club.

The winners were presented with the trophy by Salem Essam Al-Roumi, owner of Al-Nawader Stud, and Alaa Hamad Al-Roumi, owner of Al-Raya Stud. The event was attended by Sheikh Dhari Al-Fahad, Chairman of the Club, and Sheikh Mohammed Dhari Al-Fahad.

Other top performers included “Al-Moor,” “Yarqa,” and “Al-Ghaliya Muniya,” who won the trophies for Martyr Sheikh Fahad Al-Ahmad, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad, and Sheikh Dhari Al-Fahad, respectively, as part of the Triple Crown of Champions series.

In the fifth race, the horse “Yarqa”, owned by Al-Faraj, trained by Faraj Amer, and ridden by jockey Abdullah Al-Faraj, won the Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Cup for mixed horses over 1,000 meters, finishing in 59.50 seconds.

The sixth race, reserved for mixed C3 mares, saw “Al-Ghaliya Muniya” of Al-Ansari, trained by Sultan Al-Athab and ridden by Salem Al-Ajmi, take the Sheikh Dhari Al-Fahad Cup, covering 1,400 meters in 1:27.77.

The event concluded with Sheikh Sabah Fahad Al-Nasser, Hamdan Al-Odhaileh, and Hassan Al-Badeen presenting a commemorative shield to the heirs of the late Martyr Sheikh Fahad Al-Ahmad.
