Safwan border with Kuwait is reopened

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 23: Director of Boundary Exits Media in Iraq Alaa Al-Dein Al-Qaisi affirmed the reopening of Safwan border with Kuwait after the protestors closed it recently, reports Annahar daily.

Speaking to Russian News agency ‘Spotting’, Al-Qaisi said Safwan border was reopened early morning and movement of passengers as well as the entry and exit of commercial shipments are smooth.

He added the protesters closed the border for a few hours and then they withdrew.

Meanwhile, the German News Agency quoting reliable sources from the Secretariat-General of GCC said the next Gulf Summit will be held in Riyadh next month instead of Abu Dhabi. However, Kuwait hasn’t received any official notice with regard to the change in summit venue, reports Al-Qabas daily. In case the venue is changed to Riyadh, it will constitute a great move toward reform and promote unity of the Gulf with the participation of all Gulf football teams in dousing fire ignited by the mass media.
