KUWAIT CITY, July 8: The residents of Sabah Al-Ahmad Residential City have complained about the negligence of camel herders as they leave the animals to graze on the trees in private gardens, causing panic to the residents and obstructing traffic movement on the roads, reports Al-Rai daily. The residents also complained about the spread of stray dogs despite informing the concerned authorities at the Ministry of Interior, Kuwait Municipality, Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) and Environment Public Authority (EPA); disclosing none of these authorities have responded so far. Chairman of the Voluntary Committee for the Residents of Sabah Al-Ahmad Residential City Turki Al-Osaimi told the daily that the spread of camels grazing in the city is alarming, while the abovementioned authorities have not strictly applied the law on those involved in overgrazing.

e said the residents usually inform the concerned authorities whenever they see camels grazing on the trees in their gardens and blocking the roads, but these authorities merely take temporary action and ignore the law in a scene that is repeated the next day. He added that no action has been taken to stop the spread of stray dogs in the city and surrounding areas, considering these dogs scare children and women. “We are afraid of the catastrophe which could befall our children due to the spread of such dogs. We are hoping the concerned authorities will immediately address our problems,” he concluded.
