KUWAIT CITY, Dec 23: The State Audit Bureau is currently reviewing 24 tenders and projects planned for Kuwait International Airport, with a total estimated value of approximately KD 8 million. According to informed sources, the review is part of the approved oversight procedures before the projects receive final approval for implementation. The bureau is still in the review phase, following submissions from the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA).
It is examining both the financial and technical aspects of the tenders and projects before issuing its final opinion in line with applicable laws and regulations. The tenders under review include providing baggage handling services at Kuwait International Airport Terminal 1 (T1) and operating restaurants and commercial spaces within the airport.
Additionally, a tender is available for the design, manufacture, supply, installation, and operation of specialized technological systems, including an integrated ground-based sensor station, an overhead airborne system, and a hydrogen generator system. These are part of efforts to introduce modern and advanced technologies into airport operations.
The list of tenders also includes a number of commercial and service activities in the T1 terminal, including travel agencies, telecommunications services, cafes, optical stores, clothing, and electronics, car rentals, pastry shops, and other services aimed at enhancing the experience for travelers and airport users. The sources confirmed that the State Audit Bureau reviews all tenders and projects according to approved oversight frameworks, focusing on compliance with applicable laws and their impact on the development of Kuwait International Airport’s facilities and the improvement of service quality. Any observations will follow established procedures to ensure proper implementation and the fulfillment of the public interest.
