KUWAIT CITY, March 4: Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has signed a decree easing visa procedures for the citizens of 19 countries, reports Al- Qabas daily. In a related development, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed that his country will provide visa-free travel for citizens of 11 “friendly” countries, in addition to facilitating entry requirements for citizens of six other countries. Russian newspapers have reported that the nationals of the countries covered by the decision may obtain a tourist visa for a period of up to six months if they have a hotel reservation.
These countries include Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Brunei, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Iran, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Mexico, Myanmar, Oman, Serbia, Thailand, Turkey and the Philippines. “We are working to facilitate a completely visa-free regime with 17 countries, including India and Indonesia, and we are looking forward to easing conditions.
We are working to lift restrictions on the issuance of electronic visas for a large number of countries, and there are 70 countries that will benefit from this. Russia intends to restart the electronic visa plan introduced before the Corona pandemic,” Lavrov added.
