KUWAIT CITY, July 17: The Ministry of Finance has vehemently denied rumors spread on social media platforms about the cancellation of consumer and personal loans; urging the public to obtain information from its official Twitter and Instagram accounts and other reliable sources, reports Annahar daily. The ministry affirmed it is keen on taking legal measures against anyone who spreads false news, after the video clip of some activists claiming a decision will be issued soon to cancel the above
mentioned loans went viral on social media. These activists went as far as claiming that the ministry has started procedures to determine the number of citizens with consumer and personal loans to determine the total amount of these loans – estimated at KD2 billion.
