Rumormonger instills fright and lures them to withdraw money from their bank accounts

KUWAIT CITY, April 5: The Cyber Crime Department affiliated to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) is looking for an unidentified person speaking in the Kuwaiti dialect who allegedly poses as a bank employee and urges people to withdraw their money from their accounts, reports Al-Anba daily.

The suspect allegedly instills fright among the people and lures them to withdraw their money from their bank accounts. The daily quoting security sources said this constitutes a crime that affects national security and creates panic in the hearts of citizens and residents at a very sensitive time.

The source told the daily there are many possibilities and that the clip which is posted in the social media may have been posted from inside Kuwait in which case he will inevitably be tracked and arrested because the department has all the techniques at their disposal.

The source has warned all citizens and residents against circulating false news, stressing that the Criminal Investigation Department is on the lookout for everyone who publishes such news. The source confirmed that the bank administration, whose name was mentioned in the audio recording, has filed a complaint and demanded that the accused be arrested for damaging the bank and its clients.
