KUWAIT CITY, Aug 25: An Amiri decree has been issued on the appointment of Khalid Waleed Al-Dein as assistant undersecretary in the Ministry of Oil, reports Al-Rai daily.

On the other hand, Minister of Oil, Electricity and Water Eng Khalid Al-Fadhil has denied the rumor on building a refinery in Canada. This came in the lawmaker’s response to the inquiry of MP Saleh Ashour on the intention of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation to establish a new refinery in Canada and polypropylene factory in Alberta, Canada.

While denying the allegation that the ministry intends to establish a refinery in Canada, Al-Fadhil disclosed the estimated cost of the polypropylene factory is $3.283 billion.
