Rules tweaked for children's residence - Both Parents must be in the country

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 22: The General Department for Residence Affairs plans to put in place new condition for renewal of residence permit of children sponsored by the parents, reports Arab Times daily.The new condition states the parents of the children must be present in the country at the time of renewal of the residence permit.The condition however, exempts some professionals such as female doctors and teachers. They can apply for the renewal of the residence even if the husband is not present in the country, but this exemption is limited to some in the public sector only.In the meantime, a source said any expatriate who provides proof of divorce from his wife done inside or outside Kuwait, the residence of the ex-wife will not be renewed if she is in Kuwait and will not be allowed to enter if she is outside the country.
