KUWAIT CITY, Nov 5: Italian Shooting Federation President Luciano Rossi praised the Kuwait Asian Shooting Championship, held at the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Complex, calling it a model event that exceeded expectations. He noted that performances, especially in the trap category, rivaled results from the Olympic Games.

Rossi, who helped award the trap winners, highlighted the excellent organization, warm hospitality, and strong collaboration between the Kuwait Shooting Federation and the Asian Shooting Federation. He pointed out that Abdulrahman Al-Faihan matched the score of Nathan Hales, the Paris 2024 Olympic gold medalist, reflecting the championship’s high standard.

“The event is progressing in the right direction, with top-level competition among champions,” Rossi said, expressing confidence in Kuwait’s continued support for shooting at both Asian and global levels.

Rossi also expressed pride in attending the championship, hosted by Sheikh Salman Al-Hamoud, President of the Asian Shooting Federation, and Eng. Duaij Al-Otaibi, President of the Arab and Kuwaiti Shooting Federations.

The trap competitions for men and women concluded recently, with Kuwait winning five medals among the top six positions.

Today, the 50-plate skeet competitions for men and women continue, with shooters battling for spots in the finals scheduled for Friday.

Qatari technical delegate Abdullah Al-Hammadi praised Kuwait and Sheikh Salman for the invitation and commended the high technical level and fierce competition among participants, all striving for top positions in each category.
