RIYADH, April 20: Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr, has scored in 25 different competitions across his illustrious career after opening the scoring against UAE side Al Wasl in the AFC Champions League Elite quarterfinals on Sunday.

The Portuguese forward registered his first goal in the continental competition after appearing once in the group stage, where he provided an assist, before finding the net 11 minutes into the match held in Dubai.

Ronaldo has now scored in 25 separate tournaments during his career with Sporting CP, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, Al-Nassr, and the Portugal national team.

His 969 career goals have come across a wide range of competitions, including domestic leagues and cups in Portugal, England, Spain, Italy, and Saudi Arabia, as well as major tournaments such as the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, AFC Champions League Elite, Arab Club Champions Cup, and AFC Champions League 2.

With Portugal, Ronaldo has also scored in the FIFA World Cup, UEFA European Championship, UEFA Nations League, and FIFA Confederations Cup.

He has featured in two competitions without scoring: the UEFA Cup with Sporting CP (before its rebranding as the Europa League in 2009) and the Community Shield with Manchester United.
