RIYADH, Nov 5: Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, an Al-Nassr striker, revealed that his retirement from football is approaching. The 40-year-old, who has scored 952 career goals and won numerous titles, said he may cry when the time comes, but he is ready to adapt to life off the pitch.

In an interview with Piers Morgan, Ronaldo said, “Soon. I think I will be ready. Of course, it will be difficult. Maybe I will cry. But I’ve been preparing for my future since I was 25, so I can handle it.”

Ronaldo emphasized his enduring passion for football: “Nothing compares to the thrill of scoring a goal. But everything has a beginning and an end. I have other passions and will dedicate more time to myself and my family, raising my children.”

Despite leaving Manchester United for the second time in 2022, Ronaldo still follows his former club closely, particularly his former teammate and current manager Rúben Amorim. On United’s struggles, he added: “They have good players, but some don’t understand what Manchester United truly means. Miracles are impossible.”

He concluded: “Manchester United will always be in my heart. I love this club. But we must be honest — the club isn’t on the right path. Changes are needed, and it’s not just about the coach or players.”
