Romanian girls offering body for KD 200/hour arrested

KUWAIT CITY, July 13: Two Romanian girls affiliated to an international prostitution ring were busted in a hotel in the Capital by officers from the Moral Guidance Unit of Interior Ministry. The girls were charging their clients KD 200 per hour and earned roughly KD 1500-KD 2000 each day, says Al-Seyassah. A security source said the officers, acting on a tip-off, raided the hotel and arrested the suspects who arrived in Kuwait on the ticket of an international prostitution network. They were referred to concerned authorities for necessary action.

Briton nabbed: Personnel from the Kuwait Drug Enforcement Administration have arrested a British citizen for smuggling marijuana into the country, reports Al-Anba daily. According to a security source, the arrest came after the General Department for Drugs Control received a tipoff from an unidentified source that the suspect will receive a parcel from abroad and that the contents were drugs. The suspect was arrested when he was on his way home after collecting the parcel from an air freight office. The parcel contained a quantity of marijuana.

Hunt for illegal weapons: Public Relations and Security Media confirmed that the Search and Investigations Department conducted an extensive campaign in Mubarak Al Kabeer and Sabah Al Salem areas Saturday as part of efforts to implement Article 1 of Law No. 6/2015 related to the collection of unlicensed weapons and ammunition. The two and half hours operation was conducted in coordination with officers from General Department for Rescue, General Department for Traffic and Public Security Sector, as they closed all roads to and from the areas to prevent escaping of those wanted and violators. They arrested three citizens wanted for civil execution and referred them to concerned authorities for necessary action.

Fleeing illegally: Officers at the Salmi border post recently foiled an attempt by four Kuwaitis to help a compatriot leave the country illegally, reports Al-Anba daily. The man is wanted by law and there is a travel ban on him. He was found hiding under the back seat of a SUV, a blanket covering him. One of the four men was earlier charged with the same offence and he was caught at the same border post. The 5 men have been referred to the concerned authorities. In another similar, but unrelated incident a Kuwaiti attempted to leave the country illegally via the Salmi border post by using the Civil ID of his twin brother The arrest came because his brother is also wanted by law and has a travel ban. The officers at the post have also seized a bedoun who attempted to cross the border illegally. He said he was going to perform Umra.

Wanted duo held: The Farwaniya police in two separate incidents have arrested two Kuwaitis who had been sentenced in absentia for failing to pay debts, reports Al-Rai daily. One man was wanted for failing to pay KD 200,000 and the other KD 86,000. One of them was caught while driving along a street in Farwaniya.
