Rain-soaked roads as cars push through the downpour.
KUWAIT CITY, March 26: Kuwaiti authorities have announced the closure of several major roads and diversions across the country due to rising water levels caused by heavy rainfall.
In a statement, the Ministry of Interior Kuwait, represented by the General Department of Public Relations and Security Media, urged motorists to exercise extreme caution as weather conditions continue to impact road safety.
Key routes affected include King Abdulaziz Al Saud Road, which has been closed for traffic coming from Kuwait City, with vehicles being diverted to the Sixth Ring Road to Jahra. Traffic heading toward Kuwait City from the same road is being rerouted to Al Taawon Street toward Al Bidaa Roundabout.
Additional diversions are in place for vehicles coming from Al Taawon Street toward the Messila area, while certain connecting branches of the Sixth Ring Road leading to Fahaheel have also been shut.
Authorities have strongly advised citizens and residents to remain at home unless absolutely necessary and to avoid waterlogged roads. Drivers on essential journeys are urged to adhere strictly to traffic regulations and follow instructions issued by security personnel to ensure safety and smooth traffic flow.
The Ministry confirmed that emergency hotline 112 is fully operational to receive reports and assist the public.
Officials reiterated the importance of staying updated through official channels as unstable weather conditions persist across Kuwait.
