RIYADH, March 23: The Saudi Cabinet has affirmed the importance of signing a document between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait on developing the Kuwaiti-Saudi Durra offshore gas field in the Arabian Gulf in a way that backs the growth of vital sectors in the two countries.

Signing the document comes in implementation of backing progress in all vital sectors in the two countries and under the MoU signed in December 24, 2019 regarding developing the strategic field to meet local demands for liquefied gas, the Saudi Cabinet said in a statement carried by Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The agreement was signed on Monday (yesterday) by Kuwait’s Deputy Prime Minister, Oil Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Mohammad Al Fares, and his Saudi counterpart Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud. The gas field is located in the Kuwait-Saudi Neutral Zone, where production is divided equally between the two countries. (KUNA)
