KUWAIT CITY, Oct 19: Remittances from Filipino workers in Kuwait increased by 4.6 percent year-on-year during the first eight months of 2025, reaching $399.6 million compared to $381.8 million during the same period in 2024, reports Al-Seyassah daily. Overall, remittances from Filipino workers in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries rose by 6.06 percent year-on-year in the first eight months of 2025. The vast majority, 96.62 percent, of these remittances came from the Middle East, totaling $3.96 billion, up from $3.73 billion during the same period in 2024. According to “Information Direct” statistics based on data from the Central Bank of the Philippines, remittances from Filipino workers in the six Gulf countries accounted for 96.62 percent of the total remittances from the Middle East, estimated at $4.10 billion.
