WASHINGTON (AP), Mar 28: Exiled Iranian Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi told a gathering of U.S. conservatives on Saturday that he is prepared to lead a transition away from the Islamic Republic, stating that when the “right moment arrives” he will call on the Iranian people to rise up.
Pahlavi made the remarks during a nearly 30-minute speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) outside Dallas, where he was repeatedly met with applause and cheers from attendees.
During his address, he praised U.S. President Donald Trump for initiating military action against Iran’s current government, drawing strong reactions from the audience.
The crowd responded most enthusiastically when Pahlavi asked whether Iran could become a future friend and ally of the United States, saying: “Can you imagine Iran going from ‘Death to America’ to ‘God bless America’?”
He later added: “President Trump is making America great again. I intend to make Iran great again,” prompting another wave of applause from the audience.
