KUWAIT CITY, March 27: Since this morning, Internet users in Kuwait are having problems connecting to the network, which led to the interruption of service for some and slowing down for others. The Public Authority for Communications and Information Technology stated that teams from the International Connections Authority Department were present due to disruption of 60 percent of internet service in the country due to road works, the repairs of the damaged cable will be restored in another two hours.
The authority stated that the repair of the parts between the Umm Al-Hayman exchange and the Nuwaiseb border center had been completed, thus the service was restored on the international cable system STC and the international cable system Mobily, work is underway to repair the remaining broken cables and systems.
The cables outage took place in several locations, the first between the Umm Al-Hayman divider and the Border Center in Nuwaiseb, the second between the Umm Al-Hayman and the Al-Zour divider, and the third between the Jahra and Borders Center in Al-Salmi divide, which led to the suspension of three systems.
