KUWAIT CITY, Sept 23: Brigadier General Fawaz Al-Roumi, Head of the Residency and Nationality Affairs Sector, carried out an extensive inspection tour of the National Identity Center in Al-Shamiya, as well as the Residency Affairs Departments in Hawalli and the Capital Governorates, as part of efforts to monitor workflow and assess the quality of services delivered to the public.

During the visit, Brigadier General Al-Roumi conducted a comprehensive review of transaction processing systems, administrative workflows, and the deployment of advanced technologies aimed at enhancing service efficiency. He emphasized that such field inspections are integral to a broader strategic plan focused on assessing operational performance, identifying and addressing challenges faced by both staff and visitors, and ensuring seamless service delivery across all departments.

He noted that the Al-Shamiya Center has evolved into a comprehensive hub providing integrated nationality and residency services to both Kuwaiti citizens and expatriates. The center also offers dedicated services for the elderly and individuals with special needs. Highlighting a citizen-centric approach, Al-Roumi confirmed that Kuwaitis can now complete their transactions in any governorate, without being bound by geographical limitations.

In line with the country’s digital transformation agenda, Al-Roumi announced that the Residency and Nationality Sector is in the final stages of implementing electronic information transfer. He revealed that service centers will soon go paperless, significantly streamlining procedures and reducing waiting times for clients.

He also pointed to the availability of the “Sahel” application, through which citizens can verify domestic worker visas before recruitment, thereby increasing transparency and protecting the rights of all involved parties.

Emphasizing leadership presence, Brig. Gen. Al-Roumi reaffirmed the importance of department heads and their deputies maintaining regular field visits to reception halls to ensure workflow fluidity and ease of service. He warned that strict legal measures will continue to be enforced against sponsors and visitors found in violation of residency laws and regulations.

Concluding his tour, Al-Roumi called on all employees to embrace a spirit of teamwork and to remain committed to delivering high-quality services. He stressed that the continued success of the Residency and Nationality Affairs Sector depends on collective efforts and adherence to the highest standards of professionalism, quality, and transparency.
