KUWAIT CITY, Feb 20: The Ministry of Interior on Friday categorically denied social media reports claiming that organizers of Ramadan gatherings held without a permit would face a six-month prison sentence and a fine of KD 1,000.
In an official statement issued under the banner of the State of Kuwait, the ministry said the information circulating on certain platforms was “completely false” and not based on any decision, circular or directive issued by the authorities.
The General Department of Public Relations and Security Media stressed that the ministry had not announced any penalties related to Ramadan gatherings and urged the public to exercise accuracy when sharing information, particularly on security-related matters.
The ministry called on citizens and residents to refrain from circulating or republishing unverified reports, warning that rumors can create confusion and unnecessary public concern. It reiterated that any regulatory measures or official decisions would be communicated solely through accredited and official channels
