‘Report workers toiling in the sun from 11am to 5pm’ – Send video clips on 55643333

KUWAIT CITY, June 3: Kuwait Society for Human Rights (KSHR) has urged all citizens and expatriates in Kuwait to monitor violations concerning engaging workers during the day in open places in summer. Chairman of the society Khalid Al-Humaidi affirmed that everybody can monitor violations and publish them on social media by sharing photos and video clips via the society’s number 55643333.

He noted the call is meant to activate government’s decision that bans working under direct sunlight from 11am to 5pm beginning June to August for the safety of workers. He said employers should respect law by protecting the rights of workers, and create the right environment for workers. He again urged employers to provide healthy and safe environment according to international standards. He stressed the importance of activating decision no. 535/2015 of the Public Authority for Manpower concerning ban on working in open places during summer .
