INDIA, Nov 11, (Agencies): Renowned Telugu actor Chandra Mohan, a stalwart of the film industry, passed away on Saturday due to a cardiac arrest at the age of 82. The veteran actor breathed his last at 9.57 am in Hyderabad's Apollo Hospital, as confirmed by Jagan, the public relations officer of the hospital. The final farewell and last rites are scheduled to be held on November 13, Monday, in Hyderabad.

Chandra Mohan, born Mallampalli Chandrasekhar Rao on May 23, 1943, in Pamidimukkala village, Andhra Pradesh, made his entry into the Telugu film industry in 1966 with 'Rangula Ratnam,' earning the Nandi award for Best Actor. His illustrious career included notable films such as 'Shankarabharanam,' 'Seethaamalakshmi,' 'Padaharella Vayasu,' 'Siri Siri Muvva,' and 'Chandamama Raave.' With two Nandi Awards and one Filmfare Award South, Chandra Mohan left an indelible mark on Telugu cinema.

A cousin of veteran director K Vishwanath, a Dada Sahab Phalke award winner, Chandra Mohan is survived by his wife, Jalandhara, and two daughters. The film fraternity mourns the loss of this legendary actor whose contributions enriched the world of Telugu cinema.
