DOHA, Jul 10: Regional mediation efforts helped prevent new US military strikes on Iran, with Qatar, Pakistan and other countries working to ease tensions and revive nuclear negotiations, Axios reported, citing US and regional officials.
According to the report, officials from Qatar, Pakistan, Türkiye, Egypt and Saudi Arabia held multiple calls on Wednesday with US and Iranian counterparts aimed at de-escalating the crisis and arranging another round of technical-level nuclear talks.
A regional source involved in the mediation said the immediate priority was reducing tensions before setting a date for renewed negotiations between technical teams.
A US official told Axios that the Trump administration remains "committed to finding a resolution" and confirmed that technical-level discussions are continuing.
