LOS ANGELES, Oct 22, (Agencies): Reese Witherspoon has come to appreciate the strength in vulnerability, as the renowned Big Little Lies actress opened up about the personal hurdles she's confronted over the past year.
During an event for her company, Hello Sunshine, in Los Angeles on Oct 21, Witherspoon candidly shared her journey towards achieving a better life balance. She revealed, "I've been striving to find equilibrium beyond the realm of my professional life. I'm someone who crams my schedule with busyness to escape feelings of loneliness, nervousness, or unease."
While her career in Hollywood has always held a significant place in her life, Witherspoon acknowledged, "I started to realize that this approach wasn't working for me. About a year ago, I had a moment where I felt like a robot, and the robot finally broke. I cried, and I cried."
In her time of realization, Witherspoon turned to her friend Tracee Ellis Ross for guidance in navigating this revelation. "Sharing this makes me feel incredibly vulnerable," admitted the Oscar-winning actress, her eyes brimming with tears, "but I believe it's essential. We carry so much weight for so many people. My wonderful friend Cleo Wade recently penned a beautiful poem about being the glue in people's lives. Sometimes, you're the one who holds everything together, whether at work, as a mother, or as a partner, but who is there to hold you together? It's a vital question to remember."
Witherspoon went on to explain that she was moved to tears when she read Wade's poem, as it made her recognize that she hadn't been taking proper care of herself and hadn't been seeking help from others.
The founder of Reese's Book Club, who publicly announced her separation from husband Jim Toth in March, later shared insights about the profound self-discovery she's undergone over the past three decades in the hope of inspiring others.
