KUWAIT CITY, Sept 14: After a year of field surveys in Kuwait, the Environment Public Authority (EPA) said the spread of red tide and fish death was due to the misuse of rainwater drainage outlets, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily added, the emergency team from the Biodiversity and Water Quality Monitoring Department of the EPA conducted field surveys and collected phytoplankton and water samples for laboratory analysis.

“Through the results of the ongoing EPA project the aim was to identify the affected marine areas and assess the situation in some areas which continued to be of low quality especially near the rainwater outlets.
