Red Crescent Reaffirms Commitment to National and Humanitarian Duties

KUWAIT CITY, Mar 2: The Board of Directors of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society held an emergency meeting chaired by its Chairman, Khaled Al-Mughamis, to review regional developments and strengthen the Society’s logistical readiness.

In a statement to Kuwait News Agency, the Society said the Board examined the outcomes of the recent Operations and Emergency Committee meeting. Discussions focused on approved emergency response plans, raising the preparedness level of volunteers and staff, and updating operational mechanisms and field deployment strategies.

The Board reiterated its full support for the Chairman and members of the Operations and Emergency Committee, stressing the importance of maintaining a high state of readiness and enhancing coordination with relevant government bodies to ensure a swift and effective response when required.

The statement added that the Board reviewed overall logistical preparedness and confirmed the availability of essential supplies to enable the Society to carry out its humanitarian mission within the national response framework. A number of volunteers have also been assigned to remain on duty at the Society’s headquarters around the clock to respond to any requests from concerned authorities.

The Society reaffirmed its commitment to its national and humanitarian responsibilities, pledging to work in close cooperation with state institutions to address any emergency, in line with its social responsibility and the continued support of Kuwait’s leadership and society for humanitarian efforts.
