Recovery of ‘Transportation’ debts from expats in Kuwait before departure

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 5: The Ministry of Interior has announced the implementation of a decision aimed at recovering debts owed by foreign nationals to the Ministry of Transportation before their departure from the country. This measure is set to take effect starting this Wednesday, reports Al- Seyassah daily. The Ministry’s General Department of Security Relations and Media issued a press statement on this matter today, Tuesday.

The decision is in line with the directives of Sheikh Talal Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between government entities and the Ministry of Interior in the process of debt collection from departing foreigners. It was clarified that any foreign national intending to leave the country, regardless of the reason for their departure, must settle any outstanding bills through the Ministry of Transportation’s website or the Sahel application. Furthermore, a plea was made for everyone to strictly abide by the established legal provisions and avoid any breaches, as the Ministry is fully committed to upholding security and public order within the country.
