Rania prepares to start filming for ‘Gharib’, ‘happy to join Tariq group, team Foroughy’

First comic experience in series

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 1: As actress Rania Shehab prepares these days to start filming her scenes for the series ‘Gharib’, she expressed her pride and said she is happy to join the ‘group of artist Tariq Al-Ali and the team of ‘Foroughy’ company, reports Al-Rai daily. Shehab said in a statement to the daily, “I am happy to be experiencing this comic experience in the series Gharib with artiste Tariq Al-Ali, as it is the first experience that brings me together with him, and thank God I was assigned a star role.”

She went on to say, she was nominated to participate in more than one other dramatic work, but I apologized for not participating in all of them, and “the reason is my desire to devote time to the character as it should be played, because my viewers are many and therefore there will be no time for other works. Besides, comedy needs to be focused on and not distracted.”

On her joining the “Foroughy” team, she said, “This is a matter of pride for me that I have been hoping for a long time ago, and I was waiting for the appropriate opportunity, and although there was no objection to going to the company’s headquarters and introducing myself to Tariq Al-Ali, despite this I waited for the right opportunity – until I was asked by him, and also from director Numan Hussein, after they realized by talent and the ability to add to work, and this came after I had signed a contract with Al-Ali to participate in his next comedy play, which was supposed to see the light of day the last Eid al-Fitr but was postponed due to spread of the emerging corona virus pandemic.

“Now we are awaiting the decision for the theaters to reopen again, to start (rehearsals) and perform shows in Kuwait and the Gulf states as well,” she added. It is noteworthy to mention ‘Gharib’ was written by Abdullah Balais and directed by Numan Hussein. In addition to Al Ali, Shihab, Al Faraj and Al Tabakh, Shihab Hajiya, Muhammad Bash several other young stars are taking part in ‘Gharib’.
