KUWAIT CITY, Oct 15: The General Traffic Department (GTD) in the Interior Ministry continued its campaigns to control parking violations in hospitals, resulting in the issuance of 361 violation citations in just 24 hours recently. A security source revealed that GTD issued 118 no-parking and obstructing traffic citations recently at Amiri Hospital, 104 in Jahra Hospital, 80 in Adan Hospital and 59 in Farwaniya Hospital. He said traffic campaigns are ongoing at all hospitals, urging drivers to stop in designated parking spaces in multi-level parking lots to avoid traffic violations.

The recent campaign led to the issuance of a number of violation citations, in addition to the impoundment of violating vehicles in accordance with Article 207 of the Executive Regulations of the Traffic Law, stipulating that vehicles will be impounded for a period not exceeding two months if they obstruct traffic. GTD confirmed that these campaigns are carried out intensively in all governorates, as part of a comprehensive plan aimed at instilling traffic discipline and easing traffic flow in front of hospitals. It called on drivers to abide by the law and use only designated parking spaces to ensure everyone’s safety.

Meanwhile, the ministry affirmed its continuous commitment to implement the law without leniency, as well as the continuation of its efforts to guarantee the safety of road users and raise traffic awareness among all segments of society. Previous issues of the newspaper reported about major traffic campaigns targeting violators of the parking ban in hospitals in the six governorates.
