KUWAIT CITY, March 25: Kuwaiti astronomer Adel Al-Saadoun said the holy month of Ramadan is expected to begin on Wednesday, April 14. He came to the conclusion after studying the circumstances of the sighting of the Ramadan crescent since it became clear that sighting the blessed Ramadan crescent will be impossible to see on Monday April 12 in any Arab Gulf country. Al-Saadoun said in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Wednesday that seeing the crescent with the naked eye or with close-up binoculars has conditions that have been set from two visors over the ages and what was decided by the Istanbul conference in 1978 and 2016. He mentioned among those conditions is that the moon should be in conjunction with the sun, and this happens every month, as the moon revolves one cycle around the earth in approximately 29 and a half days.
