KUWAIT CITY, Dec 2: The fifth round of the Kuwaiti Basketball League continues today with two key matchups at the Basketball Federation Hall in Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Complex. At 5:00 PM, Al-Arabi will take on Al-Sahel, followed by Qurain facing the reigning champions, Kuwait Club, at 7:00 PM.
Qurain, currently sitting on 8 points, faces a daunting task against Kuwait Club, the league’s strongest and most experienced team, which also has 8 points. While Qurain boasts young talents such as Adel Al-Saeed, Faisal Al-Bahar, Abdul Latif Al-Faraj, Ahmed Al-Fudari, and Youssef Al-Filkawi, experience and technical skill heavily favor Kuwait Club. Coached by Serbian Dusan Stojkov, the defending champions feature key players including Hamad and Mohamed Adnan, Alexander Al-Ghais, Turki Hamoud, Imran Johar, Sahu Al-Sahu, Youssef Al-Hamdan, Aziz Ramadan, and their trio of foreign professionals: Jamal Jones, Charlie Moore, and Frenchman Geoffrey Lavigne.
Earlier in the day, Al-Arabi, seventh with 5 points, will clash with Al-Sahel, also on 5 points. Both sides aim to end their losing streaks, though the pressure is heavier on Al-Arabi. Key players Adel Madid and Fahad Adel could prove decisive in securing the club’s first victory of the season.
