NEW DELHI, Jan 10, (Agencies): Several questions still remain unanswered, from why the Bengaluru CEO took the trip to Goa to the motive behind a mother's devastating act against her own child.
Around 48 hours have passed since the case of Suchana Seth, CEO of a Bengaluru-based start-up, allegedly murdering her four-year-old son has come to light, grabbing national headlines. While new information related to the case is emerging by the hour, details surrounding the horrific incident remain sketchy.
Several questions still remain unanswered, from why Seth took the trip to Goa to the motive behind a mother's devastating act against her own child.
The murder came to light on Monday night when Seth, the CEO and founder of The Mindful AI Lab, was arrested in Karnataka's Chitradurga with the body of her son stuffed inside her luggage. Seth, who visited North Goa in the weekend, allegedly killed her son at a service apartment in Candolim before leaving for Bengaluru in a taxi.
Initial questioning by police revealed Seth loved her son and became possessive of her child after his birth.
Even Seth's last post on Instagram, about three months ago, was of a photograph of her four-year-old son playing around an aquarium. The Instagram post was captioned with the hashtag "whatwillhappen".

While police have said Seth committed the murder to prevent her estranged husband from meeting their son, it remains unclear why a mother would take such an extreme step. Seth married Venkat Raman, who is from Kerala, in 2010 and their divorce proceedings are underway.
During initial questioning, the CEO reportedly claimed she didn't "intend to kill her son", and that she loved him, but he "died suddenly".
Seth was based out of Bengaluru. Last year, a Bengaluru family court allowed the father to meet his son every Sunday. It is still a mystery why Seth travelled to Goa just to murder her son and take a return trip to Bengaluru in 48 hours.
A report in The Indian Express, however, quoted police as saying Seth made the trip to Goa just to delay her son's meeting with his father. The reason is yet to be ascertained.
In Goa, Seth checked in at Sol Banyan Grande with her son on January 6. When she checked out on the intervening night of January 7-8, staff at the service apartment got suspicious when they found bloodstains in her room.
The post-mortem of the child has revealed he was smothered using either a cloth or pillow. Moreover, empty cough syrup bottles were also found in the room of the CEO.
While the police have revealed that Seth tried to end her life by slitting her left wrist, it has not been ascertained yet if the bloodstains were of the CEO. Police are also yet to give an official reason for the empty cough syrup bottles in the room and if the medicine was given to the child before Seth allegedly killed him.
