TEHRAN, Jul 26: Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is currently not communicating with any party or individual for “specific reasons,” his father-in-law Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel said on Sunday.

Speaking to ISNA news agency, Haddad-Adel did not provide further details but said Mojtba is similar to his father, former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, “in every way,” and expressed hope that he remains in good health.

Mojtaba Khamenei has not appeared in public since he was appointed supreme leader following the death of his father, Ali Khamenei, who ruled Iran for nearly 36 years and was killed in a US-Israeli airstrike on February 28.

The development comes amid continued uncertainty following recent tensions between Tehran and Washington. A ceasefire memorandum was reached last month through Qatari and Pakistani mediation, but US President Donald Trump later declared the truce over after renewed exchanges of fire between the two sides.
