DOHA, Apr 14: Majed Al Ansari, Advisor to Qatar’s Prime Minister and spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Qatar, reaffirmed Doha’s position on regional tensions during a weekly media briefing, stressing that the security of the Strait of Hormuz must not be compromised by escalation.
He warned against any attempts to politicize the vital maritime route and called for the immediate resumption of shipping activity without preconditions, highlighting its critical role in the global economy.
Al Ansari said Qatar is actively engaging with regional and international partners to help de-escalate tensions and find a solution. He also confirmed ongoing communication with Pakistan, expressing support for Islamabad’s mediation efforts and emphasizing the need to strengthen regional coordination to advance dialogue.
