DOHA, May 28: The Ministry of Interior of Qatar has announced that the temporary extension of expired and near-expiry visit visas will end on June 7, 2026, with all standard visa regulations set to resume.
In a statement, the ministry said the decision follows an earlier measure introduced on March 3, 2026, that allowed extensions for all types of visas. The extension policy will officially cease to be in effect from Sunday, June 7.
The ministry clarified that, from that date, the approved procedures governing all categories of entry visas will be reinstated, including their validity periods and applicable fees.
Authorities urged residents, visitors, and all concerned parties to regularize their legal status, renew visas where required, and pay the relevant fees within the prescribed timeframes.
The ministry also advised individuals whose visas have expired to leave the country to avoid legal violations or penalties resulting from overstaying beyond the permitted period of residence in Qatar.
Officials stressed the importance of complying with immigration regulations to ensure legal residency and avoid enforcement measures.
