DOHA, Mar 2: The Ministry of Defense announced on Monday evening that the Qatari Emiri Air Force had shot down two Sukhoi Su-24 aircraft approaching from Iran.
According to the Qatar News Agency, air defense systems also intercepted seven ballistic missiles, while five drones were downed by the Qatari Emiri Air Force and the Qatari Emiri Navy after they targeted multiple locations across the country.
The ministry said the threats were dealt with immediately upon detection in line with the approved operational plan, noting that all missiles were destroyed before reaching their intended targets. It emphasized that the Qatari Armed Forces possess the full capability and readiness to safeguard the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and to respond decisively to any external threat.
