DOHA,(AP) Mar 28: Qatar’s Ministry of Defence said its air defence systems intercepted several drones launched from Iran, marking the first reported attack on the Gulf state in more than a week. The interception comes amid ongoing regional tensions, with Qatar having previously faced multiple missile and drone attacks during the conflict.
Authorities had earlier activated warning sirens on Friday to alert residents of potential incoming threats. However, no impacts or damage were immediately reported following the alerts, according to media observations.
Officials have not disclosed the exact number of drones intercepted or whether any targets were affected, as the situation remains under monitoring.
