DOHA, March 6: The Qatari Ministry of Defense said Qatar was targeted by a wave of drone attacks launched from Iran on Friday.
In a statement issued from Doha, the ministry said 10 drones were launched starting at dawn and continuing until early evening. Air defense systems of the Qatar Armed Forces successfully intercepted nine drones, while one drone struck an uninhabited area without causing any casualties.
The ministry emphasized that the armed forces have full capability and resources to safeguard the country’s sovereignty and territory and will respond firmly to any external threat.
Authorities also urged citizens, residents, and visitors to remain calm, follow official security instructions, avoid spreading rumors, and rely only on information released through official channels.
