Qatar FA approves Sheikh Hamad as president until 2027

DOHA, Sept 10: The General Assembly of the Qatar Football Association (QFA) approved the appointment of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani as president until 2027, while Sheikh Tamim bin Mohammed Al Thani was approved as vice president for the same period.

The ordinary General Assembly meeting was attended by Sheikh Hamad, Sheikh Dr. Tamim, members of the QFA Executive Committee and the secretary-general, along with representatives of member clubs and officials from the association's various departments and committees.

The appointments will remain in effect until the QFA's electoral General Assembly in 2027.

The assembly also approved proposed amendments to the QFA's statutes.

Meanwhile, Al-Dafna Sports Club's request to join the QFA as a member club was rejected.
