DOHA, Apr 29: Qatar has strongly rejected what it described as “false and unfounded” media reports alleging its involvement in discussions related to potential International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrants against Israeli officials.

In a statement issued on April 29, the International Media Office (IMO) of the State of Qatar said recent claims attempting to link Doha to inappropriate communications with ICC officials were baseless and misleading.

The IMO accused Israeli officials of being behind the allegations, stating that they have repeatedly disseminated inaccurate information about Qatar through selective leaks aimed at serving their own interests. It added that such claims have been consistently refuted and proven false.

According to the statement, the accusations form part of broader efforts by certain individuals to evade legal accountability at both domestic and international levels over alleged violations of international law. The office said these actors are attempting to deflect attention from their own conduct by implicating Qatar and distorting facts.

The statement further alleged that these campaigns are not limited to Qatar, claiming that the same individuals have long engaged in covert efforts involving fabricated documents, audio recordings, and videos to advance what it described as “malicious agendas.”

Reaffirming its position, the International Media Office stressed that Qatar remains vigilant against such allegations and will continue to defend its reputation, while pursuing efforts aimed at promoting regional peace and stability.
