DOHA, Jul 12: Qatar strongly condemned what it described as renewed Iranian attacks targeting its territory and several Arab countries, calling them a flagrant violation of national sovereignty, international law and the Charter of the United Nations.

In a statement, Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Iran's attacks on Qatar, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman and Kuwait constituted a breach of the UN Charter and the principles of good neighborly relations.

The ministry warned that the continued attacks represented a dangerous escalation that would complicate efforts to contain regional tensions and undermine political and diplomatic initiatives aimed at restoring security and stability.

Qatar said Iran bears full legal responsibility for the attacks and their consequences, adding that it reserves the right to respond in accordance with international law and Article 51 of the UN Charter, which recognizes the inherent right of self-defense.

The ministry also expressed Qatar's full solidarity with the other countries targeted in the attacks and called for an immediate halt to military operations and a serious return to dialogue and negotiations.

Separately, Qatar's Ministry of Interior announced the temporary suspension of departures for all maritime vessels, including fishing boats, until further notice as a public safety precaution amid the deteriorating regional security situation.
