Qatar Condemns Attack on Iranian Gas Facility as ‘Dangerous and Irresponsible’

Doha, March 18: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned that Israel’s targeting of facilities linked to Iran’s South Pars gas field, which extends Qatar’s North Field, is “a dangerous and irresponsible step” amid ongoing regional military tensions.

In a statement posted on X, the ministry said attacks on energy infrastructure threaten global energy security, regional populations, and the environment. It reiterated Qatar’s long-standing call to avoid targeting vital facilities and urged all parties to exercise restraint, comply with international law, and pursue de-escalation to preserve regional security and stability.
