DOHA, Apr 15: The Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, received a phone call on Wednesday from the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, during which they discussed the latest regional and international developments amid rising tensions.
According to the Qatar News Agency, the call focused on the implications of recent escalations in the region, particularly their impact on maritime security and the stability of global energy markets and supply chains. The Amir reaffirmed Qatar’s role as a reliable partner in supporting global energy stability and stressed the importance of continued commitment to international obligations.
He also underlined the need for intensified international efforts to prevent further escalation and emphasized diplomacy as the primary means to resolve crises and safeguard regional and global security.
For his part, Trump expressed appreciation for Qatar’s mediation efforts and its role in promoting regional stability, noting that Washington is keen to coordinate with Doha on key issues, including energy security and global market stability.
