Qadsia players rejoice after finding the net.

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 17: The second round of the Zain Premier League continues today with two key matchups. Kazma meets Tadamon at the Friendship and Peace Stadium at 6:15 p.m., while Qadsia takes on Shabab at 8:30 p.m. in Al-Ahmadi.

Kazma will be aiming for back-to-back victories after edging Salmiya 1-0 in the opening round through a goal from star forward Mishal Al-Shammari. Although Salmiya played with several key absences, Kazma failed to fully exploit the situation, but still secured an important three points. This season, Kazma hopes to avoid the slow starts of previous years and keep their title ambitions alive for a championship they haven’t won in a long time.

Tadamon, meanwhile, looks to recover from a 3-1 defeat to defending champions Kuwait SC in their opener. Despite the setback, the “Farwaniya Blues” impressed with their competitiveness and managed to match the champions for long periods of the game.

In the later clash, Qadsia will seek another strong performance after its 4-0 rout of Al-Nasr, with fans eager to see more from foreign signings Victor Lekhal of Algeria and Neeskens Kebano of Congo. Lekhal struggled to make an impact in his starting debut, while Kebano came off the bench late and impressed with his flair, though still short of full fitness.

Egyptian star Mahmoud Abdel-Moneim “Kahraba” stole the spotlight in that match, scoring once and assisting twice. However, Qadsia remains without Libyan Mohamed Soula, Abdulaziz Wadi, and Muath Al-Dhafiri through injury, along with suspended Algerian defender Soufiane Bouchar.

Shabab, on the other hand, will try to bounce back from its 2-0 loss to Al-Arabi. The “Sons of Al-Ahmadi” looked flat in their opener, struggling to pose a real threat despite some attacking attempts.
