Qadsia drops Orok as club searches for replacement

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 20: Qadsia has released Nigerian forward Gabriel Orok and is searching for a replacement ahead of the closing of the summer transfer window.

Orok struggled to make an impact in Qadsia’s opening three Zain Premier League matches and was involved in a disagreement with coach Mohammed Ibrahim during the team’s second-round clash against Kuwait Club.

Orok came on as a second-half substitute but was withdrawn in the 82nd minute. Ibrahim later explained that the change was intended to encourage the player to raise his intensity after he had not shown enough desire to contribute and follow the team’s instructions.

Qadsia’s foreign contingent now consists of Moroccans Hamza Khaba and Ayoub Lakhdar, Oman’s Abdulrahman Al-Mushaifri, and Ivorian Cedric Gbo.

The team sits third in the league with six points, one behind joint leaders Kuwait Club and Kazma.

Qadsia is also preparing for its AFC Challenge League campaign, with the club set to host its group matches in Kuwait in mid-October.
