KUWAIT CITY, Aug 5: Qadsia Club has stepped up its preparations for the 2026-27 volleyball season by signing experienced setter Abdullah Al-Assaf from Al-Arabi, reinforcing its squad ahead of the new domestic campaign.
Widely regarded as one of Kuwait's leading setters, Al-Assaf brings a wealth of experience and proven quality to the "Yellow Castle." His addition gives the coaching staff greater depth and flexibility as the club targets success across all local competitions. He began his career with Al-Tadamon before going on to represent several Kuwaiti clubs.
The move is part of Qadsia's ambitious recruitment drive to strengthen the team's technical quality and build a balanced squad capable of competing for championships.
Qadsia has already been active in the transfer market, appointing head coach Humber Alejandro and assistant coach Diego, while also signing Beninese international Daouda Yacoubo and Kuwaiti player Yousef Mandil before securing Al-Assaf's services.
Elsewhere, Al-Nasr has launched its pre-season preparations under Montenegrin head coach Darko, with local players returning to daily training sessions.
The club has reinforced its roster with the arrivals of Cuban attacker Kely Bryant and Brazilian Renan Salton, as well as local signings Jassim Al-Sabbagha and Mohammed Al-Ali.
Al-Nasr also renewed the contract of first-team manager Mohammed Al-Daihani, who said the club is determined to deliver a strong campaign and challenge for domestic titles during the 2026-27 season.
