KUWAIT CITY, Oct 8: Qadsia avenged its earlier loss to Burgan, securing a 25-24 win in a thrilling match at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Complex Hall. The game was part of the first round of the second half of the Handball Premier League, and mirrored the close contest of the first half, when Burgan had edged Qadsia by the same scoreline.

The decisive goal came from Qadsia’s professional player, Jihad Arar, in the 29th minute and 33rd second, just moments before the final whistle.

The win moved Qadsia up to share third place with Burgan, both holding 8 points, although Burgan retains a slight advantage on goal difference.

In another top-flight match, Kuwait Club dominated Al-Nasr 41-22, repeating its first-half victory (41-23). The win extended Kuwait SC’s lead to 16 points at the top, while Al-Nasr remains at the bottom of the standings with 2 points.

In the First Division League, Al-Fahaheel defeated Al-Sahel 33-29, Al-Qurain beat Khaitan 34-30, and the Youth National Team narrowly overcame Al-Yarmouk 38-36.

Qadsia coach, Tunisian Aimen Al-Qafsi, praised his team’s strong and disciplined performance. He said:

“This match was very different from our first-half encounter, which followed only three weeks of preparation. After two months of training, the team has improved significantly in both defense and attack, despite facing a strong Burgan side.”

Al-Qafsi added that Qadsia capitalized on Burgan’s defensive weaknesses, effectively neutralized their key attackers, and played with high intensity in all positions, highlighting Ahmed Al-Farhan’s goalkeeping as a key factor in the victory.
