KUWAIT CITY, Oct 12: Qadsia and Al-Nasr played to a 1-1 draw in a friendly at Mohammed Al-Hamad Stadium as both teams gear up for the resumption of the Zain Premier League next week.
Tunisian coach Nabil Maaloul used the match to evaluate his players’ readiness and fine-tune the squad for the league restart. Maaloul returned last week from Tunisia, after traveling from Iraq, following Qadsia’s 1-3 loss to Zakho in the opening round of Group A in the Gulf Club Champions Cup.
Kazma defeated Salmiya 4-2 in a friendly at Thamer Stadium, as both sides continue preparations for the league.
The match featured the return of Salmiya international goalkeeper Abdulrahman Al-Fadhli, who recovered from knee cartilage surgery performed in Bahrain last August. Salmiya will play a second friendly against Burgan this evening, ahead of their October 19 league clash in Round 5 of the Premier League.
Khaitan Club announced the departure of Tunisian coach Hatem Al-Muaddib and the appointment of Russian Alexander Vladimirovich as the new head coach of the first team.
Al-Muaddib becomes the second coaching casualty this season, after Salmiya coach Nasser Al-Shatti resigned following the first round.
