Qadsia and Qurain are aiming to recover from last-round defeats as the basketball league continues. Today, Qadsia will face Al-Sahel at 5:00 PM in the seventh round, followed by Qurain taking on Al-Arabi at 7:30 PM. Both matches will be held at the Kuwait Basketball Federation Hall in the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Indoor Hall Complex.
The league features a three-division format, with the top four teams advancing to the semifinals. The semifinals are played in a best-of-three playoff system: the first-place team faces the fourth-place team, and the second-place team faces the third-place team. The first team to win two matches advances to the final.
Qadsia currently sits fourth with 8 points from 3 wins and 2 losses, tied with Al-Salibkhat and Al-Nasr. They come into today’s game after a loss to league leaders Kuwait. Despite facing the lower-ranked Al-Sahel, who are seventh with 7 points, Qadsia is expected to play with full intensity as the race for a semifinal spot remains highly competitive.
Qurain, in third place with 9 points from 3 wins and 3 losses, will take on Al-Arabi, who are last with 6 points from 6 defeats. Qurain is determined not to drop any points in their quest to secure a top-four finish. They have played one more match than Qadsia, as their previous game against Al-Salibkhat was postponed due to the participation of Al-Salibkhat’s Iranian player Solar Monji with his national team in the Asian qualifiers.
